Use the size of your own representative sample instead of an assumed compression ratio. Enter numbers only; no document leaves your device.
Use a positive sample size up to 1,000,000 MB and whole page counts from 1 to 100,000. MB here means 1,000,000 bytes. If your file manager reports MiB, multiply that value by 1.048576 first.
Scan several representative pages using the intended paper size, resolution, color mode, OCR and compression. Photo-heavy pages or noisy scans may be larger. Shared PDF resources mean growth is not exactly linear. Keep room below any upload limit.
A fictional 3-page sample measuring 1.2 MB averages 0.4 MB per page. At the same average, 20 pages project to 8 MB. This is arithmetic, not a measured scanner benchmark. For mixed documents, estimate the text and photo sections separately and add their totals.
